This course equips students with the knowledge and skill to perform CPR and provide a first aid response to infants and children in line with first aid guidelines.
It is suitable for individuals working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency.

Overview
Course duration and delivery:
Completion of a series of online training modules and knowledge assessment, taking approximately 3-4 hours to complete and 1 day in-class practical training and assessment.
Prerequisites:
- The physical ability to complete 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR on an adult manikin placed on the floor, 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR on a child manikin placed on the floor, and 2 minutes of continuous CPR on an infant manikin.
- It is strongly recommend that students have an understanding of CPR and first aid from previous training or practical experience.
- Minimum age 15 years
- In order to complete this course, you must be able to:
- Give a clear verbal report of an incident
- Understand verbal instructions
- Read and understand written instructions
- Write an incident report
Certification:
On successful completion of the course, students will be provided with a Statement of Attainment that includes the following:
- HLTAID009 - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- HLTAID012 - Provide First Aid in an education and care setting
