This course equips Swim Teachers with their Aquatic Rescue award and the knowledge and skill to perform CPR in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.
In this course you will learn to supervise students undertaking lessons in swimming pools or other controlled aquatic environments, recognise emergencies, and perform basic rescues.

Overview
Course duration and delivery:
Completion of a series of online training modules and knowledge assessment, taking approximately 1-2 hours to complete and 5 hours in-class practical training and assessment.
Prerequisites:
- The physical ability to complete 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR on an adult manikin placed on the floor and 2 minutes of continuous CPR on an infant manikin.
- Minimum age 16 years 9 months
- In order to complete this course, you must be able to:
- Give a clear verbal report of an incident
- Understand verbal instructions
- Read and understand written instructions
Certification:
On successful completion of the course, students will be provided with a Statement of Attainment that includes the following:
- HLTAID009 - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
A Swimming Instructor Rescue Award will also be provided.
