Provide Advanced Resuscitation
The Advanced Resuscitation course equips students with the knowledge and skill to perform CPR and to use specialised equipment in the provision of resuscitation and oxygen therapy.
It is suitable for individuals who need to respond to complex emergency situations requiring resuscitation or oxygen therapy.
Individuals must hold the unit HLTAID011 Provide first aid.

Overview
Course duration and delivery:
Completion of a series of online training modules and knowledge assessment, taking approximately 2-3 hours to complete and 1 day in-class practical training and assessment.
Prerequisites:
- Prerequisite Unit: HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
- The physical ability to complete 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR on an adult manikin placed on the floor, 2 minutes of bag-valve-mask (with oxygen) ventilation and at least 2 minutes of compression on an adult manikin placed on the floor, and 2 minutes of continuous CPR on an infant manikin.
- Minimum age 15 years
- In order to complete this course, you must be able to:
- Give a clear verbal report of an incident
- Understand verbal instructions
- Read and understand written instructions
- Write an incident report
- Physical ability to handle resuscitation equipment and oxygen therapy equipment
Certification:
On successful completion of the course, students will be provided with a Statement of Attainment that includes the following:
- HLTAID009 - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- HLTAID015 - Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy
